Site Nordique de la Pesse - Hautes Combes
Welcome to the Hautes-Combes du Jura. Right in the heart of the Haut-Jura Regional Nature Park, this Nordic ski area will delight lovers of the great outdoors, protected and far from the hustle and bustle of the big cities. One of the special features of the Hautes-Combes is the way the villages in the area are connected: cross-country skiing or snowshoeing between the villages is child's play thanks to the extensive network of groomed runs. The charm of the Hautes-Combes will amaze you when you come across its tall, majestic spruce trees, crossing the dolines in the deep valleys that will turn your head in the direction of the unmissable Monts Jura.
The village of La Pesse, right in the heart of the Jura Mountains, will satisfy your desire for wide-open spaces and unspoilt nature. A small village with a population of 340, situated at an altitude of 1160 metres, it has all the services and facilities you need for a mountain holiday: ski schools, equipment hire, slopes for all levels, so you can learn as well as improve your skiing skills, there's something for all the family.
Multi-activity slopes (fun areas, toboggan runs, snowtubing), long snowshoeing or Nordic ski touring outings or simply a walk - there are plenty of ways to enjoy winter sports!
The village has a ski lift and a snow wire (belonging to the ESF and dedicated exclusively to lessons) for discovering and learning downhill skiing. Ideal for a gentle start!
Departure from the slopes in the village of La Pesse: this is the main departure point for all the slopes in the area, from green to black, so there's something for everyone.
La Pesse is also a village renowned for its mushers, with 3 runs: 5, 8 and 15km and a link between runs, dedicated exclusively to dog sledding and skijoring. There is a reception area at the start of the slopes with a parking area and a chalet with an out-of-bag room. Prices depend on the type of activity.
From La Pesse, you can reach the north of the Massif via the GTJ ski or snowshoe trail, as well as the south, towards Giron.
