Musée de la Machine Agricole et de la Ruralité (le Mumar) à Saint-Loup-des-Bois
Opened in 1993 in Saint-Loup-des-Bois, our museum boasts a collection of over 300 working farm machines. A guardian of rural life, it also showcases the woodworking trades that once populated our villages. The museum covers 3,600 m², divided into 3 sections.
Note the rarity of some of the machines and the quality of the restoration work on these items.
Topics covered: Farming before mechanisation, the tractor, harvest time, combine harvesters, woodworking.
QR codes with additional information and translations are available for each machine in the tractor and harvester building. Other QR codes will be installed in the other buildings during 2023.
A veritable outdoor museum, a conservatory orchard features more than 50 old varieties of fruit trees. A bridge between yesterday, today and tomorrow, it teaches young and old alike about the different cycles of nature, while raising awareness of the need to preserve our environment.
The Museum has put in place a museographic and environmental improvement plan for 2022.
Melliferous hedges have been planted between the families of farming implements, along with educational leaflets.
Squares have been sown with various varieties of cereals and oilseeds.
An extraordinary exhibition of irons completes our displays.
