Site Nordique des Moussières - Hautes Combes
Welcome to the Hautes-Combes du Jura. Right in the heart of the Haut-Jura Regional Nature Park, this Nordic ski area will delight lovers of the great outdoors, protected and far from the hustle and bustle of the big cities. One of the special features of the Hautes-Combes is the way the villages in the area are connected: cross-country skiing or snowshoeing between the villages is child's play thanks to the extensive network of groomed runs. The charm of the Hautes-Combes will amaze you when you come across its tall, majestic spruce trees, crossing the dolines in the deep valleys that will turn your head in the direction of the unmissable Monts Jura.
The small village of Les Moussières, at an altitude of 1,144 m, is the perfect example of the mountain village you might imagine: a strong village spirit, shops and services, all surrounded by magnificent valleys and forests.
From Les Moussières, it's easy to get to the other villages in the area: Lajoux and La Pesse or Les Molunes and Bellecombe. This link is made possible by the GTJ ski and snowshoe trail, which runs through the area.
Les Moussières pistes: start right in the heart of the village, from the Salle des Dolines. Easy slopes accessible to all, ideal for beginners. From Les Dolines, you can enjoy a wide range of activities, including cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, a play area and a toboggan run.
A little further into the village, there's an area dedicated to downhill skiing, with two ski lifts (green and blue runs) and a snow wire (belonging to the ESF and dedicated exclusively to lessons).
Departure from the pistes in the village of Les Molunes: two possible departures from the locality of La Vie Neuve (with a splendid view of the Monts-Jura): 1 green piste and 1 red piste, more difficult, which leads to the GTJ.
Departure of the pistes from Bellecombe - les trois Cheminées: black piste from Les Closettes, which will take you to the village of La Pesse, or which is a more difficult alternative to the GTJ piste which takes you to La Pesse from Les Molunes.
