Grottes d'azé
Landmarked prehistoric site. International classification in palaeontology (from 250,000 to 10,000 years old). The prehistoric grotto: the one thousand-bear cave. 200 metres of marked paths. The greatest concentration of bear skeletons visible in an open cave. Lion skeletons, including one extremely rare specimen with its entire skull intact. Mousterian dwellings found on the site, fauna and Stone Age industrial activities, Neanderthal man. The underground river: 800 metres of marked paths, fossilized and active galleries. Water recreational area, waterfalls, aquatic cave fauna. The site's archaeological museum: an impressive array of minerals, flint rock, bones, weapons, tools, pottery, coins and cave fauna. Over 3,000 listed artefacts.

Annual closure from 04/11/2024 to 04/04/2025. Reopening of the Grottes d'Azé on 05/04/2025.
