Museum of Art and Archeology of Perigueux

Puyguilhem Castle

Join a guided walking tour in the Old Town to experience the beautiful historical buildings and learn about the history and founding of Perigueux through fascinating tales and stories about the city. The Old Town is an important part of the cultural heritage of Perigueux, dating back to the 1200s. You’ll be taken along the pretty, narrow alleys and cobblestone streets an to really get a sense of Perigueux.

Visits at 3PM every Wednesdays ans Saturdays during school holidays and everydays (except on Thrusdays at 10.30 AM) in July and August.

Perigueux Tourist Office - Guided tours

This concept, unique in Europe, housed in jean Nouvel’s audacious architectural style, vesunna reveals the Roman origins of a large gallo-roman dwelling, the Vesunna domus or villa.

July and August : 10:00 - 19:00 everyday

April, May, June and September : 9:30 - 17:30 from Tuesday to Friday. 10:00-12:30 and 14:30-18:00 on Saturdays and Sundays.&nbsp;

October to March : 9:30&nbsp; - 12:30 and 13:30- 17:00 from Tuesday to Friday. 10:00-12:30 and 14:30-18:00 on Saturdays and Sundays.

Closed for 3 weeks in January.

Vesunna, gallo-roman Museum

The Napoleon Museum of the Pommerie at Cendrieux in Perigord opens its private collection of souvenirs of the Imperial Family.
Over five hundred objects, paintings and sculptures of which 150 are listed with the Historical Monuments, are shown by a direct descendant of the Bonaparte family in their home which is listed with the Suplimentory Inventory of Hisoric Monuments (ISMH).



Opening times :

April : on Thursdays and Sundays at 3 PM

From May 1st to July 15th and in September : 3 PM everyday except on Saturdays

From July 16th to August 31st : 10.30 AM, 3PM and 5PM everyday except on Saturdays

Musée Napoléon

In the course of time, water and nature have hollowed out the cave and decorated and designed it into a huge fresco. 
During a visit we will take you into a fairy-like spectacle of light and shadow with stalagmites, stalactites, columns, draperies, helictites and other forms of formations.
The cave is accessible for people in a wheelchair, and there is also a wheelchair available.

March and November : from 2 to 6 pm during the week-end.

April, October ans school holidays : from 2 to 6 pm

May, June and September : from 10 am to 12 and from 2 to 6 pm

July and August : from 9.30 am to 6.30 pm

Open on every bank holidays except on December 25th and January 1st.
