Museum of Apt

This museum tells the main steps in the true adventure of the industrial activity which has impacted and continues to influence the history of the area and the life of local inhabitants since the 18th century.....

Industrial activity in the Apt area is characterised by three main natural resources - ochre to make colour pigment, clay to make faience ware and architectural ceramics, and fruit orchards to produce the fruit for the candied fruit industry. Around these three industries, several related activities, such as packaging, mechanics, and sulphur extraction, have sprung up to work with these three main products. The museum's collections preserve the memory of all those who worked in processing this natural resources. The museum is in the former Marliagues candied fruit factory.
