Comité du Monument National du Hartmannswillerkopf

Hartmannswillerkopf, renamed Vieil Armand by the press during the First World War, is a pyramidal rocky spur in the Vosges Mountains, rising 956 meters above the Alsace plain.A National Monument stands there in memory of the battles fought on the mountain during the First World War, primarily in 1915. Vieil Armand was then a strategic summit fiercely contested by the French and German armies.
