Saint-Étienne, also familiarly known by the French as "Sainté," is the "French capital of design." This accolade was recognized with Saint-Étienne's inclusion among the UNESCO Creative Cities of Design in 2010. To illustrate this, every two years, it hosts the International Design Biennial with participants including renowned names in the field like Lisa White and Benjamin Loyauté, as well as students from its Higher School of Art and Design, ESADSE.
