Collection Lambert / Museum of Contemporary Art 

Founded on the historic donation of dealer and Collector Yvon Lambert, the Collection Lambert, museum of contemporary art, reopened its doors to the public in July 2015 after doubling its exhibition space. The hôtels de Caumont and Montfaucon now host a selection of works from the permanent collection (Sol LeWitt, Douglas Gordon, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Anselm Kiefer, Niele Toroni, Andres Serrano... whose works are presented in rotation) and temporary exhibitions by artists from the current art scene.

Visit of the Fortress of Saint André, Villeneuve Lez Avignon 

On Mont Andaon, Fort Saint André was commissioned by Philippe IV le Bel and built under Jean II le Bon in the 14th century. This immense 750-meter-long fortification, built to protect the Abbey of Saint André and the town, enabled the King of France to assert his power in the region.

From Avignon, on the other side of the Rh&ocirc;ne and from even farther away, you can clearly see the fort standing proudly. But it is only once you are there&nbsp; that you can fully appreciate&nbsp; the strategic position&nbsp;of this fort dominating the Rh&ocirc;ne valley. From the top of its parapet walk, you can observe the Popes &#39;s Palace across the way, the Philippe IV le Bel tower, the saint Andr&eacute; abbey encompassed within the fort&#39;s defensive&nbsp; walls,&nbsp;the chartreuse&#39;s monastery in the village below and the entire surroundings countryside.&nbsp;

You can walk among the vestiges of the old medieval village and the chapel, visit the fort&#39;s buildings and rooms that have remained intact and learn about the aspects of military life from the Middle Ages up to the french revolution.

Popes' Palace 

The monumental residence of the 14th-century pontiffs, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is the largest Gothic palace in the world (15,000 m2 of floor space, equivalent to the volume of 4 Gothic cathedrals).

The visitor can see over 20 rooms, scenes of historic events, in particular the pope&rsquo;s private chambers and the frescoes painted by the Italian artist Matteo Giovannetti. The Popes&rsquo; Palace also offers the visitor continuous cultural activities throughout the year.

The ticket includes the visit of the Palace of the Popes as well as the histopad which is a touch pad that allows to live&nbsp;&nbsp;a temporal immersion in the major parts of the monument, entirely re-constituted as they could be in the 14th century.

The Palais des Papes is not accessible to people with reduced mobility, due to a large number of steps. However, for those with mobility difficulties, two specially-designed areas are available along the tour route. How does it work? You can park at the Palais des Papes parking lot. Take a ticket at the entrance terminal and with your materialized or dematerialized pass (e-ticket), go to the reception of your parking lot. Present your Avignon City Pass so that the receptionist can issue you a ticket for the duration of the chosen package which will allow you to enter and exit the parking lot several times and activate your Avignon City Pass.&nbsp;
